Privacy policy
Private by design, practical by default.
PackSweep is free to start, with a one-time Pro upgrade. No ads, no analytics SDKs, no hosted accounts, no PackSweep backend. Apple Intelligence features run on your device—your packing data is never sent to an AI service. Your data stays on your device, and on your iCloud if you turn that on.

Short version
PackSweep keeps packing data on your device and, if you enable iCloud, syncs that data through your personal iCloud account. Shared trips use Apple's iCloud sharing features so another person with PackSweep can collaborate with you.
Data PackSweep stores
PackSweep stores the information you add to the app so it can build and organize your packing lists.
- Trips, trip dates, destinations, and departure details.
- Packing items, checked states, quantities, categories, bags, and notes.
- Traveler attributes you enter: name, age band (infant, toddler, child, teen, or adult), gender if set, and optional care flags such as "in diapers," "takes prescription," or "wears glasses." These power the per-traveler packing logic and never leave your device except through Apple's iCloud sync if you enable it.
- Reusable categories, suggestions, templates, and household settings you create or edit.
- Reminder preferences needed to schedule local packing reminders.
iCloud sync and sharing
If iCloud is enabled for PackSweep, your PackSweep data may sync across your Apple devices through your personal iCloud account. When you choose to share a trip or household, PackSweep uses Apple's CloudKit sharing features so invited users with the app can access the shared content.
Apple's iCloud terms and privacy practices apply to iCloud storage and sharing. PackSweep does not operate a separate hosted server for this data.
What PackSweep does not collect
PackSweep is designed to avoid ongoing hosted services and third-party tracking. The app does not include:
- Advertising SDKs.
- Analytics SDKs.
- Third-party tracking SDKs.
- A PackSweep account system.
- A hosted PackSweep backend.
- Third-party hosted database services.
- Cloud AI services. (Apple Intelligence runs on-device.)
Apple Intelligence
On devices that support Apple Intelligence, PackSweep can draft a trip from a description you type, suggest templates, check a list for missing items, and sort custom items into categories. These features use Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework. Your trip details are processed on your device and are not sent to PackSweep, to Apple, or to any other AI service.
PackSweep stores one setting in your iCloud key-value storage recording whether you have used the free AI trip build, so it is not offered again after reinstalling.
Purchases
PackSweep Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple. PackSweep never sees your payment details. Purchases can be shared with your Family Sharing group.
Exports and reminders
Text and PDF exports are generated locally from the trip data on your device. If you share an exported file through another app or service, that app or service handles the file according to its own privacy practices.
Packing reminders are local notifications managed by iOS. Notification permission is controlled in the Settings app on your device.
Children's privacy
PackSweep lets a parent or guardian set a traveler's age band (infant, toddler, child, teen, or adult) and optional care flags so the app can suggest age-appropriate items. These are local packing attributes you enter, not online profiles. PackSweep does not operate a hosted account system and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Traveler data does not leave your device except through Apple's iCloud sync if you enable it.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as PackSweep changes. The date at the top of the page will be updated when the policy changes.
